Indigo Creek in Murrells Inlet - Lennar

Indigo Creek is an established golf community in the heart of Murrells Inlet directly off of McDowell Shortcut Road.

The master planned community of Indigo Creek has 595 single family homes approved for development as per the Horry County government. As of October 2024, 294 single family homes have been constructed and an additional 301 single family homes remain to be developed.

Single family homes in Indigo Creek first began to sell back in the fall of 2004. Pulte (Centex) was one of the primary builders in Indigo Creek up until this point.

In 2024, single family homes in Indigo Creek have sold from the middle $300,000’s to the middle $500,000’s.

Two new Carolina Forest elementary schools set to open August 2025!

Two new elementary schools are coming to the Carolina Forest area!

One of these new Carolina Forest elementary schools will be at the corner of Ronald McNair Boulevard and Christa McAuliffe Street.

The other new Carolina Forest elementary school will be at the corner of Carolina Forest Boulevard and Stafford Drive.

Both of these new Carolina Forest elementary schools are scheduled to open by August 2025.

Plans are already in place to change the attendance lines at the existing Carolina Forest Elementary, Ocean Bay Elementary, and River Oaks Elementary schools.

Kingston Lakes in Longs - 93 single family homes

Kingston Lakes is a new home community in Longs that is in the early planning stages. Current efforts for the new home community of Kingston Lakes in Longs are seeking to rezone 18.73 acres (to MRD 1) to allow for the development of 34 single family homes in what is being defined as “Phase 2”.

The construction phase for “Phase 1” was previously approved. Phase 1 is zoned SF 8.5, which means that the minimum development area requirements (lot size) need to be 8,500 square feet.

Current plans are for the new home community of Kingston Lakes to have 93 single family homes.

Lennar planning to develop the new home community of Wildwood in Loris

Wildwood is a new home community just outside of downtown Loris that is in the early planning stages. Current efforts for the new home community of Wildwood in Loris are looking to rezone approximately 89.84 acres from Forest Agricultural to Multi-Residential Preservation (MRD-P) for 173 single family units.

The MRD-P zoning district is relatively new in Horry County. With MRD-P zoning, a smaller minimum lot size becomes permissible for the exchange of greater setbacks, landscape buffers and the implementation of sustainable design criteria. Simply speaking, a property with MRD-P zoning will have more green and more open space, but potentially more homes closer together.

Carolina Forest Day 2024

The second annual Carolina Forest Day was held on Saturday October 5, 2024.  Large crowds attended the event that provided an opportunity for the Carolina Forest Community to gather for food, fun and prizes and to meet local businesses.

The Carolina Forest Civic Association hosted the event.  The Carolina Forest Civis Association (https://www.cf-ca.org/) is a non-profit 501-C-4 organization that endeavors to educate Carolina Forest residents on the issues that are important to them.  This Association also creates a voice for its residents throughout all levels of government to ensure that voices are heard and the issues that are important to the residents are recognized by the legislator...

First homes under contract set to close in Night Owl Farms!

The first new homes constructed that were under contract in the new home community of Night Owl Farms in Conway are expected to close in October 2024!  Homes in Night Owl Farms first started to presell back in June 2024! 

Night Owl Farms is a new home community in Upper Conway located right off of Night Owl Lane near the intersection of Highway 501 and Highway 22.  Highway 22, also known as the Conway Bypass and Veterans Highway, greatly simplifies travel about the Conway and Myrtle Beach areas as it is a 4 lane highway that connects Highway 501 in Conway to Highway 17 in Myrtle Beach.
